JUST IMAGINE
WASHINGTON, DC
Just Imagine
A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization preparing inner city children from Washington, DC for college by: providing scholarships to sleep away camp, access to standardized test prep, academic and life skill workshops, college tours, and community service projects.
Our Story
Just Imagine (JI) started in 2011 as a way to make the sleep away camp experience accessible to DC students who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Throughout the years, Just Imagine has grown into a college prep program that sees sleep away camp as just one piece of the college prep puzzle. JI provides opportunities to children as young as 7, and continues to support these students through high school graduation.
SUMMER CAMP
Summer camp programming has always been the backbone of Just Imagine. Just Imagine sends children all over the country and internationally to traditional and specialty sleep away camp programs.
COLLEGE TOURS
Navigating the college selection process can be daunting. Starting Sophomore Year, JI Scholars are invited to participate in College Tours across the country with their peers. These experiences help give student's a frame of reference when it comes time to apply and ultimately choose the college that is right for them.
